About The Opal Ledger
Meet The Opal Ledger: individual loose opals, permanent stone IDs, exact-stone media, and clear distinctions between seller history and independent verification.
A small collection, deliberately documented
The Opal Ledger follows a simple principle: an individual stone should be presented with enough evidence that a buyer can understand what is known, what is observed, and what still requires judgment.
We present individual loose stones for collectors and people planning jewelry with a bench jeweler. This site is the place to explore the record and learn what to ask. Purchases take place on the exact Etsy listing linked from each available stone, where you can check current availability and transaction terms.
What the name means
A ledger is a durable record. Each published stone has a permanent ID connecting its photographs, video, disclosures, downloadable ID card, and sales listing. Weight evidence and measurement photographs are included where available; numerical dimensions that have not been verified are explicitly marked. Description follows documentation—not the other way around.
Purchase history, stated plainly
The seller records Tikka Opals as the supplier of rough for TOL-0006, TOL-0007, TOL-0011, and TOL-0013, and Down To Earth Opals as the supplier of TOL-0017. All five were purchased at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show. The year has not been supplied. These are seller-stated acquisition histories, not independent proof of a mine of origin.
Useful information without invented certainty
A bright photograph does not settle construction, treatment, condition, or geographic origin. Our records separate seller declarations, media observations, and unanswered questions. Ledger cards are seller records, not independent laboratory reports, insurance appraisals, or promises about future value.
Read the Ledger Standard, start with the Opal Guide, orexplore the collection. If a detail matters to your purchase, ask usbefore making a decision.
